CityDesk runs On Windows 10!

I am amazed it works!

Awesome!  I was able to get CityDesk (one of the early, early blogging software platforms that this site is based on) to run on my Windows 10 machine!  I did have to download a bunch of windows dynamic link libraries (dlls) and ocx components to get City Desk running as it is an old VB6 program.

Ok, so what does hold for this software and the future of this website? I plan to eventually migrate to Wordpress; however, I did not find any easy way to move all my CityDesk content to it.  Also, for photos and quick posts I mostly use Facebook now.  So, the plan is to probably run a Wordpress site in parallel with this site for awhile and point the new Wordpress site to this one!  Then I can migrate content at my leisure!  Still I am glad this works on Windows 10.  I had been running it on an old Dell PC running Windows 95!  Now that Windows 95 is no longer supported it was time to bite the bullet and try to migrate it.  After some effort, it worked!

Now digging through that Windows 95 PC and transferring files so I can upgrade it to a Linux Distro.
Look at some of the gems I found:
